Roslyn High School celebrates graduates at 120th commencement

The Roslyn High School Class of 2026 marked the end of their high school journey on Friday, June 26, as 274 seniors crossed the stage during the school’s 120th commencement ceremony at the Tilles Center at Long Island University.
The ceremonial notes of “Pomp and Circumstance” filled the auditorium as graduates proceeded into the venue wearing blue caps and gowns while standing before applause from family members, friends, faculty and district leaders that echoed throughout the theater. The ceremony celebrated the accomplishments of the Class of 2026 while continuing the Roslyn School District’s longstanding tradition of “Excellence. Elevated.”
Principal Dr. Dave Lazarus welcomed the graduates and guests, reflecting on the achievements of the senior class and giving the Class of 2026 a message to carry with them as they travel to their next chapter.
“Growth is not a destination… It is a journey, and it is not one we take alone,” said Lazarus. “You arrived at this moment together… but you leave here, ready to step into new communities and continue becoming who you are. As you move forward, I hope you are confident in yourselves, but open enough to keep learning from the people and experiences you encounter.”
He was followed by the Organization of Class Councils President Zach Marshall, who addressed his classmates before Roslyn Board of Education President Meryl Waxman Ben-Levy congratulated the graduates and recognized the families, teachers and staff members who supported them throughout their educational journeys.
The ceremony also featured remarks from Superintendent Allison Brown, who encouraged graduates to approach the future with confidence and determination.
