Meet Dame Marina Arsenijevi, Pianist & Composer

Long Islanders will have the opportunity to hear internationally acclaimed concert pianist and composer Dame Marina Arsenijević when she performs a wide-ranging multimedia concert on Friday, Sept. 4 at 7:30 p.m. at Guild Hall, 158 Main Street in East Hampton.
The benefit concert will support Life’s WORC, the Long Island-based nonprofit that has empowered people with severe autism and intellectual and developmental disabilities for more than 50 years. Headquartered in Garden City, Life’s WORC provides residential and community-based programs and services across Long Island and New York City.
The East Hampton appearance follows Arsenijević’s sold-out benefit performance in Palm Beach earlier this year. Named the No. 1 top-ranked female pianist in the world by Nubia Magazine in 2026, she has built a career around a distinctive combination of virtuoso piano performance, original composition, multimedia presentation and storytelling.
The Guild Hall program will take audiences on a musical journey encompassing classical masterpieces, popular favorites and Arsenijević’s own compositions, many accompanied by stories drawn from her life and career. A centerpiece of the evening will be the New York premiere of “Tesla Rhapsody,” her approximately 20-minute symphonic multimedia work for piano and orchestra, performed with a synchronized film about inventor Nikola Tesla.
The composition draws upon Tesla’s Serbian heritage and his American story, combining classical writing with elements of folklore, jazz, blues and contemporary musical language. Arsenijević has said that she was inspired by Tesla’s relationship with nature and his ability to imagine possibilities far beyond the scientific conventions of his time. “Tesla Rhapsody” has received recognition from the Tesla Science Foundation, including its Gold Spirit Award, as well as the Planetary Tesla Prize for Monumental Achievement.
Tesla has particular resonance on Long Island. His experimental Wardenclyffe laboratory and tower were constructed in Shoreham, where he pursued his ambitious vision for wireless communication and energy transmission. The surviving laboratory is today the site of the Tesla Science Center at Wardenclyffe.
